Saskatchewan Announces End to Temporary SINP Pause.

The Government of Saskatchewan has made significant changes to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) due to federal cutbacks.
Key Updates:
✅ Federal Cutbacks:
- The Government of Canada reduced SINP nominations by 50%, leaving Saskatchewan with only 3,625 nominations (lowest since 2009).
- 75% of nominees must already be in Canada on a temporary visa.
✅ New SINP Changes (Effective Immediately):
- Priority for Key Sectors:
- Overseas candidates will only be considered for jobs in health care, agriculture, and skilled trades.
- All other occupations must hire from within Canada.
- Industry-Specific Caps:
- Accommodation, food services, retail trade, and trucking can only receive 25% of total nominations.
- Ineligible Occupations:
- Spas, salons, and pet care services (excluding veterinarians) can no longer apply through SINP.
- Permanent Program Closures:
- Entrepreneur, International Graduate Entrepreneur, and Farm Owner/Operator categories are permanently closed.
- Application Returns:
- Saskatchewan Express Entry & Occupations In-Demand applications without a job offer will be returned.
- Affected applicants can request a refund of their application fee.
